Identity in the modern age and telling stories that create change

Anjali Ramachandran is Director at Storythings, a content studio that helps clients like Pearson Education, Omidyar Network and the Gates Foundation tell complex stories.

With a background in digital product and technology innovation, Anjali believes in the power of strong narratives and impact-driven media.

Anjali is also the co-founder of global network for women in tech Ada’s List, with over 6000 members.

Anjali will speak about how curiosity led her and the Storythings team to investigate the subject of identity in the modern age from a variety of angles. They wanted to see what formats would work best for different audiences when it came to storytelling about complex issues like identity, data, privacy and inclusion. This quest led them to experimenting with newsletters, video, audio, data and editorial over a long period of time. The guiding light was trying to investigate how to create the most impact – how to get people to sit up and discuss these topics towards the possibility of creating real change.
